DART4City – Empowering Arts and creativity for the cities of tomorrow – Erasmus + KA2 project

The Štěpán Zavřel Foundation establishes a new educational research space in the STEAM education area with the aim of opening up new paths to the arts.

As a partner in the Erasmus+ KA2 project entitled ‘DART4City – Empowering Arts and creativity for the cities of tomorrow‘, the Foundation is working on the design of two STEAM projects ‘Making the invisible visible’ and ‘AI for creative people’.

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) education is an interdisciplinary workshop-based learning method that aims to bring pupils closer to different disciplines through problem solving, critical thinking, creativity and collaboration.

Both projects were presented on 10-11 May 2022 at the second transnational meeting in Cyprus, in the city of Limassol, in the presence of all partners Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, Heron digital education & Mathisis Ltd and Alterevo – I AM design.

The STEAM paths will be tested, at the beginning of the next school year, in the classes of the Istituto Comprensivo 3 in Bassano del Grappa (Vicenza) thanks to the precious collaboration of the teaching staff and the management.

Making the Invisible Visible”, aimed at pupils aged between 6 and 14, aims to explore feelings to encourage creativity through the theme of the “house of the soul”.

AI for creative people“, aimed at pupils aged 8 and above, is based on the combination of arts and technology, in particular on the theme of artificial intelligence.

Working on the conception and realisation of the project are Gabriel Pacheco, artistic director of the International Exhibition of Illustration for Children Le Immagini della Fantasia and Anna Mancuso, teacher and expert in STEAM, digital animator, STEAM pathway trainer and Ketty Gallon and Caterina Paolisso, responsibles of the projects for the Štěpán Zavřel Foundation.

The project is part of the broader STEAM educational research and training pathway carried out by the Erasmus+ KA2 project partners: Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, Heron digital education & Mathisis Ltd and Alterevo – I AM design.

It is crucial for the Foundation to work with its partners who have long been involved in experimenting STEAM didactics through research and teaching.
