The courses
beginner
Courses for beginners provide, explore and investigate the fundamental elements of painting techniques and storytelling through images. They are for anyone who wants to discover, in a fun and hands-on way, how the illustrated album works, whether or not approaching the world of illustration for the first time. No selection is required.
all levels
Courses at all levels address transversal areas that can equally interest those who are just approaching illustration, as well as those who already have experience in the field and wish to become professional illustrators. No selection is required.
advance Training courses
Advance training courses aim at artistic improvement, in terms of technique and subject matter. In some cases selection is required. If so, you must send 4/5 illustrations from your own work (low-resolution) and a brief resume to corsi@fondazionezavrel.it. The outcome of the evaluation will be communicated by email within 10 working days.
Masterclasses
Over the last two years, the International School of Illustration has undertaken a significant enhancement of its course programme. In summer 2020, an innovative training project is presented: the Summer Week Academy, which aims to develop the creative process of designing and enjoying an illustrated book, in accordance with a hands-on approach. The 2020 programme revolves around training courses based on masterclasses and interactive workshops involving interdisciplinary collaboration between several internationally accredited teachers. The Summer Week Academy is addressed especially to participants with basic knowledge who wish to enjoy a unique experience in a learning environment of openness and sharing.
How to enrol
Enrolment deadlines
The deadline for enrolment is 30 days before the beginning of the course, unless otherwise indicated in the respective information sheets. Late enrolments will be accepted within the limits of available places.
enrolment procedures
To enrol, please complete and send the enrolment form. Once you receive confirmation from the administration office, please formalise your enrolment by paying the enrolment fee in a single instalment and sending proof of payment by email within 5 days of receiving the confirmation. Enrolment is intended confirmed upon reception of the enrolment fee.

The enrolment fee must be paid by bank transfer.

Upon payment, an electronic invoice will be issued.
Certificate of attendance
At the end of each course a certificate of attendance will be issued, in Italian or English.
WITHDRAWAL
It is possible to withdraw from enrolment within 20 calendar days of the course start date by notifying in writing the School administration office at corsi@fondazionezavrel.it. The fee paid may be used to participate in another course at the School. No cash reimbursement will be made. However, a voucher will be issued which can be spent within two years, after which time it cannot be reused in any way.
In the event of cancellation after the aforementioned deadline, the fee paid will be retained as follows:
• EUR 50 as reimbursement of expenses should the withdrawal be received between the 20th and 8th day before the beginning of the course;
• 50% of the enrolment fee will be charged should the withdrawal be received within seven days before the start of the course;
• should the withdrawal be received after the course has started, the entire fee paid will be charged.
No cash reimbursement will be made under any circumstances.
Course implementation terms and conditions
Courses can only be implemented if a minimum number of participants is reached. If a course is not activated, enrolled participants will be notified within 7 days of the start of the course, unless in exceptional cases or force majeure. Participants will be able to choose whether to use the enrolment fee paid for another course or to ask for a refund. For e-learning courses, the notification of course activation will take place the day before the start of the online classes.
Causes of force majeure
Should it not be possible to start or complete the course as planned, due to the illness of one of its teachers who cannot be replaced or for any other reason beyond its control, the School will not be liable, except for any fee paid.

Technical and artistic equipment
Participants are required to provide their own technical and artistic equipment. The nearest fine arts shop is Colori di fiaba, 10 km from Sàrmede.
