The course is dedicated to anyone who wants to take the first steps in the creation of digital illustrations without having particular design experiences with graphic tablets and computers. We will study together the pictorial tools of Adobe Photoshop and through guided practical exercises we will reach a gradual mastery of the expressive medium, to the point of producing one or two final tables.
A set of basic brushes will be provided for the students to start a digital sketch work, with a study of chiaroscuro and the main coloring technique; for this phase, students are required to bring some simple pencil character studies. We will deepen the work on levels and masks in order to realize more complex illustrations, and will then add some pencil drawings of what could be the pages of an illustrated book or any project at the student’s choice.
