She was born in 1971 in Slupsk (Poland) and she graduated in 1998 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. In 1994 she moved to France, on the outskirts of Paris, where she still lives. In the late 80s she started working as an illustrator and artist. In 2000 she was selected for the Salon de Jeune Crèation in France; in 2002 she was invited to the Biennale of Contemporary Art in Busan (South Korea); the following year she attended the Salon d’Art Contemporain in Chelles (France). She later displayed her works in other exhibitions, both private and collective (Paris, Berlin, etc.). In 2004 she was selected for the Bologna Book Fair Illustrators’ Exhibition, and at the end of the year she was awarded the prize Calabria Incantata “Abracalabria” in Altomonte (Italy). She was selected for the Biennale of Illustration “Ilustrarte” of Barreiro (Portugal) in 2005, 2009 and 2013. Since 2005 she has taken part in various collective exhibitions: “The Emperor’s New Illustrations” (Bologna, 2005, exhibition dedicated to the works of Hans Christian Andersen); “Figures Futures” and “Peter and Alice” (Montreuil Book Fair, France), “Blue Book” (Iran and United Arab Emirates), “Le immagini della fantasia” (Sàrmede, 2008, 2010, 2015). She has displayed her works in various personal exhibitions, among which “Attorno al giardino” (Hamelin Associazione Culturale in Bologna, 2008); two exhibitions at the Perve Gallery in Lisbon (2009 and 2010); an exhibition at the Saint-Herblain Library (2011); “Tea with Alice” in Oxford (2012); “Un passo alla volta” (2013); “Nei rami” (Bologna, 2014); “Les visages du lointain” (Musèe Beurnier-Rossel, Montbèliard, France, 2014); “In the studio of the artist Joanna Concejo” (Galèrie Angle, Saint Paul Troix Chateaux, France); “Peculiar stories” (Arttrakt Galery, Wroklaw, Poland); “It’s always tea time” (Estonian Children’s Literature Centre, Tallinn, Estonia, 2015). Apart from illustration, she is also interested in the field of visual arts (sculpture, ceramics). Since 2010 she has been collaborating with Le Petit Atelier de Paris (www.lepetitatelierdeparis.com), which produces porcelain objects, unique pieces, series of printed tableware, fabric engravings etc. In 2008 her first books were published: “Il signor Nessuno” (Topipittori) and “Grand et petit” (Atelier du Poisson Soluble). They were followed by others: “L’angelo delle scarpe” (Topipittori/ed. fr. Notari, Switzerland); “Humo” (OQO, Spain); “Cuando no encuentras tu casa” (OQO, Spain); “Au clair de la nuit” (Motus, France); “The wild swans” by Hans Christian Andersen (Topipittori /ed. fr. Notari, Switzerland); “Entrez!” (Rouergue); “Zimbo” (OQO, Spain); “Una stella nel buio” (Topipittori/ed. fr. Notari, Switzerland); “Un pas à la fois” (Notari, Switzerland); “Les fleurs parlent” (Casterman, France); “Ksiaze w Cukierni” (“The prince and the pastry”, Format, Poland); “Little Red Riding Hoods” (BIR Publishing, South Korea); “Quand les groseilles seront mûres” (Atelier du Poisson Soluble, France). She collaborates as a teacher with “La Fabbrica delle Favole” in Macerata and the International School of Illustration in Sàrmede.
