Piccolo libro delle antenate is a creative writing workshop exploring memory, family history, and the invention of the past. It grew out of the writing of the texts later published in Antenate, the anthology released by Sartoria Utopia.
The workshop has become an opportunity to listen through writing, to write together, and to share an exploration of memories and the women whose lives have shaped our own, creating connections both with ourselves and with one another’s words.
Through writing, we will explore our family memories using prompts, images, photographs, poems, and picture books. In the company of our ancestresses, we will write short stories and poems for them and for ourselves, stitching together—like the pages of a notebook—the small memories that surface and the uniquely personal reconstructions that take shape within us as we fill the gaps left by time.
