Landscapes and fairy tales
‘Like the ancient travellers, our brush will draw seas, deserts, animals, monsters, cities, forests, mirrors. Our journey will lead us to encounter fairy tales and landscapes, creatures that inhabit literature and our experience’.
The ‘Landscapes and Fairy Tales’ course is conceived as a voyage of discovery and aims to lead to the creation of a tale of images and words through the use of different techniques (monotypes, India ink on canvas, water painting, oil painting).
The course involves exercising the creative process, following experimentation and intuition with order and analysis and thus identifying the union between expression and meaning.
Characters and settings, lines, textures, composition, colour will be studied, the fundamental concepts of visual language such as abstraction and figuration, symbol and syntax will be addressed, geography, botany, imaginary zoology will be encountered. A walk between reality and fantasy.
