In 2012, while the Exhibition “Le immagini della fantasia” was celebrating its 30th anniversary, the new headquarters of the Štěpán Zavřel Foundation was built in Sàrmede: it is the House of Imagination (Casa della fantasia).
Located at the very heart of this town of fairy-tales, next to the town hall frescoed by Zavřel and Wilkon, the House of Imagination is a multifunctional centre completely dedicated to imagination and illustrated books, with many rooms ready to welcome visitors and host educational activities for schools, animated readings and meetings with authors, parents and cultural operators in the field. It is a vibrant and open space that every year, from the end of October to the end of January, hosts the exhibition “Le immagini della fantasia”, and other events during the rest of the year. It is also the location of some of the courses of the International School of Illustration, the Foundation’s educational centre.
