‘I have been engaging with books for a few years now. I find that flipping through the pages or unrolling them stimulates more the curiosity to see what the object one is holding in one’s hands contains. The possibility of touching it, turning it over and over, ‘reading’ it from one side and then from the opposite side is like entering into the object itself. Thus tactile perception is added to visual perception. The book becomes paper sculpture, the paper sculpture becomes book. In the same way, working with the paper of old books, those found in flea markets or near garbage cans, is like working on oneself, recycling and recycling oneself, new ways of being and proposing, the end but at the same time a new beginning’.
