Inventing stories: inspiration and method

Successfully inventing a story in an effective way requires specific technical knowledge. Where should you start? How does the creative process unfold? What is inspiration? Is it possible to cultivate it? How do you overcome the blank page? How do you build a compelling plot? How do you create unpredictability?

In this course, the fundamental processes and elements that underpin the creation of any narrative text will be analyzed, guiding participants toward greater awareness of the methods that can be adopted and applied. The course takes a practical approach, allowing what is learned to be used also in a potential teaching context.

Provide knowledge of the fundamental elements that guide the invention and structuring of narrative texts;
Provide the skills to identify the characteristics of the child reader;
Provide the critical skills necessary for a conscious analysis of the structure of a narrative text, in order to identify its weaknesses and propose the necessary improvements;

Provide technical tools and practical ideas to apply what has been learned in one’s own teaching activity;
Provide tools to encourage and motivate children to write and read;
Practice the critical analysis of a narrative text during the editing phase.

A free shuttle service is available from the Sacile train station (the closest to Sarmede) to the accommodations and from there to the course locations for the entire duration of the training activities.
