The Magic of Printmaking

Relief, Planographic, and Intaglio Printing

Illustrator Linda Wolfsgruber, a longtime teacher at the International School of Illustration, specializes in teaching traditional printmaking techniques, from drypoint to monotype. Thanks to her extensive experience, she personally guides students of the course The Magic of Printmaking—covering relief, planographic, and intaglio techniques—through their creative processes and helps them discover their own artistic styles.
The expressive potential of printmaking supports students in exploring new creative paths, overcoming limitations and doubts.
This year, the suggested themes by the teacher focus on nature and fairy tales. Alternatively, participants can choose a different theme to be agreed upon on the first day of the course.

Techniques Covered

  • Monotype
  • Drypoint
  • Silhouette Printing
  • EVA Foam Printing

This course gives participants the opportunity to take part in the selection for the 2025 Christmas cards and greeting cards for A.B.C. – Associazione Bambini Chirurgici del Burlo.
The association offers free accommodation and support for children admitted to the Surgical Department of the IRCCS Burlo Garofolo in Trieste and their families.

During the course, participants can work on illustrations that may be selected by A.B.C. to be included in the solidarity catalog.
All proceeds from the sale of the 2025 Christmas cards and greeting cards will go toward A.B.C.’s projects.
Participating in the course is, therefore, also an act of support for A.B.C..
