
Sarolta Szulyovszky
Born in Budapest (Hungary), she has lived in Italy since 1997. In her home country, she studied Applied Arts at the “Nyugat-Magyarországi” University of Sopron. She has illustrated over 20 books for children and adults for both Italian and foreign publishers. Her works have been selected for the Bratislava Biennial of Illustration, the Le immagini della fantasia exhibition in Sàrmede, the Italian Illustrators Annual, the Chen Bochui Children’s Literature Award in Shanghai (China), the Budapest Biennial of Illustration, and many other exhibitions both in Italy and abroad.
In 2013, the cover she illustrated for Sguardo liquido (Libri, Budapest, 2013) was selected by The Wall Street Journal as one of the 12 most beautiful covers at the Frankfurt Book Fair. In 2018 and 2019, she was nominated to represent Hungary for the prestigious Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA).
Since 2010, she has been teaching illustration courses for adults and aspiring illustrators, and since 2017, she has been a faculty member at the International School of Illustration in Sàrmede.
