Natural Graphics

An encounter with nature through artistic practice. The workshop will explore both drawing from direct observation and drawing based on memory. We will follow the path from the individual image—such as an insect, a plant, a flower—to the broader one, like the landscape or a scene.

We will combine the intuition of gestural marks with an analysis of the fundamentals of graphic language: space, line, shape, and color. We will enjoy contact with materials and let ourselves be guided by the unique qualities of each technique: the fluidity of water and the plasticity of oil.

We will approach images that suggest narratives and words that generate images. We will experience the unexpected, like attentive gardeners to what happens on the page: the insect pollinating, the sudden rain, the changing sky, the influence of the moon, and the rhythm of the seasons.

The course will be held in Italian, Spanish, and English.
