Pia Valentinis

Pia Valentinis was born in Udine and lives in Cagliari. She graduated from the Art Institute of Udine and, throughout her career, has illustrated children’s books for national and international publishers, including Rizzoli, Bompiani, Fabbri, Mondadori, Einaudi Ragazzi, Editoriale Scienza, Edizioni E.Elle, Topipittori, Orecchio Acerbo, Fatatrac, RueBallu Edizioni, Edizioni Arka, Nuove Edizioni Romane, Motta Junior, Giunti, Clichy, Treccani, Gakken (Japan), Grimm Press (Taiwan), Grandir (France), Hélium (France), Chronicle Books (USA), and Eerdmans Publishing (USA). Her books have also been published in South Korea, Switzerland, Portugal, Austria, Finland, Greece, and Mexico.
Her first book as a complete author was La duda, published by Libros del Zorro Rojo (2010, Spain; translated into Danish for Jensen & Dalgaard and into Korean for LUK Books).
Together with Giancarlo Ascari, she wrote and illustrated The Green Fingers of Monsieur Monet for the Royal Academy of Arts, London (2015, also published in Italy by Edizioni Lapis and in France by 5 Continents Editions); YUM!, ZIP!, GONG!, LALALA! (translated into Russian, Korean, Chinese); Leonardo in Festa for Franco Cosimo Panini; Ponti non muri for Bompiani; and Boldini il grande seduttore for Fondazione Ferrara Arte.
She has exhibited her works in numerous collective and solo exhibitions.
She also conducts visual arts workshops for children.
