Le immagini della fantasia 37

Sàrmede, Casa della fantasia
26.10.2019 — 16.02.2020

On display more than 360 illustrations, made by 56 national and international artists, new installations with pedagogical and interactive devices, reading corners and a rich program of 70 events, including animated readings, creative workshops, meetings with illustrators and authors and presentations with experts.

Éric Puybaret, Guest of Honor is among the most representative voices in the world of international illustration, and brings to Sàrmede the wonderful spaces of his dreamlike and mysterious universe, modeled by the very substance of dreams. For Le immagini della fantasia he reconstructed a collection of 60 original canvases from galleries around the world. The international award-winning 17 illustrators present in the Panorama are entrusted with the task of reflecting on space as a representation of ideas. An important novelty is represented by the introduction of a Theme, a play on words: Show-you-monster, a journey to discover the other from us, the different, the unfair and the wonderful.

In the Pedagogy and Imagination section, intended for young readers, there is a literary garden dedicated to The secret life of objects, curated by Marnie Campagnaro, a professor at the University of Padua and among the leading Italian experts in children’s literature.

The House of fantasy of Sàrmede turns into a mental and pedagogical space dedicated to art. “In a society increasingly dominated by distraction and superficiality, we want to offer a counterweight: a place to stop and discover the invisible behind every illustrated book, every image and every story”, explains Gabriel Pacheco, artistic director of the exhibition.
A moment and a space for autonomous reflection, therefore, which takes the form of an open and stimulating path, starting from the exhibition itself.

Throughout the opening period there will be a rich program of creative activities, interactive itineraries, workshops and meetings dedicated to librarians, professionals, readings, guided tours and tours of the frescoes that populate the “village of fable”. To guide children, parents, teachers and enthusiasts in this journey of exploration there will be illustrators, authors, experts in children’s literature, art directors and other artists …
